Freeform Fridays...we did it! We made it to week two!
So what the hell was that all about last week? Steve’s got this crazy obsession with these wacky Australians with their freak out music and coked out comedy?! He might hae a thing for that one chick with the feet thing? And did he just try to moralize the whole thing as some sort of self-examination?
Its all true dear readers. Every thing you might hear about me… its all true. No need to print the legend here. Its the only way I can build my Wellesian lore.
Its all in service of the exploration of the “new media” or even old media where there is conversation through light and lens and normalization. The image in which we see others and compare ourselves where we are at and ask why we are not where we want to be.
Pigs get fed, hogs get slaughtered. Its a phrase that will definitely be recurring in pushing one of this year’s projects…but it’s one of those phrases. The ones that sound more complicated than they are (like six of one, half dozen of the other). Its a cautionary phrase: Don’t try to be happier than happy. It’s like an Epicurean sweet spot. A noblest of goals to be a mind not plagued by attention, attraction, and shallow dopamine doses. Look closely and the most Marxian of all ideals is the Mom and Pop Bakery or Shop servicing those around them in a true altruistic reciprocity. Own the keys to your own happiness, success, and prosperity within your means. Self fulfillment…yeah.
But that lens. That screen. That illusion of ease of access to millions of people. This post will currently release to about seventy-five people. About half of you will open and read it and that’s okay. Most people on this newsletter aren’t exactly interested in my ramblings and originally gave their email address for the musical support of Lost Beat 6, which is the life blood. I would prefer thirty or so loyal than thousands of commentators reacting to cheap tricks of easily predictable theses, talking heads, and destroyers of debates with our own particular set of selected figures.
It has become apparent in videos made by companies like Jubilee that “true” debates and discussion are not found or applicable due to bad faith arguments made by skewed indoctrinated world views. In a recently released video some maga dude is convinced that the government receives tax breaks from DEI hires. Like do they prorate their own payments? What no one is doing in what can be considered extremely democratic time (culturally, not politically), is debating thoughts in a meta formats especially when facts cannot taken seriously.
Everything must be broken down in some modicum of Socratic style.
Tax cuts will reduce the deficit.
Will a decrease in revenue make up for the spending? Do you trust those you receive the cuts to do the right thing? Is the government a business? Should it be run like one? If you own a business would you go about bootstrapping with out any revenue? Or perhaps would you take out a line of credit, loan, or give up equity? How long do you operate in the red with less income? What is your business plan? Are your goals to sustain? Expand? Who are you servicing?
Not once do we hear sound arguments to the goals we should be striving towards from any talking heads. It’s competing and opposing facts and no search for any higher truth.
